Constance Scharf, LCSW

Constance Scharf, LCSW, is the Dean of Students and a faculty member of the Ackerman Institute for the Family. Currently, Ms. Scharf is a member of Ackerman's EMDR and Couple’s Project. She was a member of Ackerman’s Remarriage Project and a co-founder of Ackerman's Infertility Project.

Ms. Scharf has presented workshops on family therapy and infertility in the United States, Argentina and Hong Kong. With other members of the Infertility Project, she has published two articles on the subject in Family Process and the book Couple Therapy for Infertility, which was published in 1999 by Guilford Press.

She has been an instructor in Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a Supervisor of Social Work at Smith College, and, most recently, an adjunct teaching assistant at Mount Sinai Hospital in the Department of Psychiatry. Ms. Scharf also has a private therapy practice in New York City.
