Tuition Payment Policy
Students are required to pay tuition in full to the Ackerman Institute prior to beginning their course.

Refund Policy
The Ackerman Institute does not provide refunds for Summer Clinical Practicum, Live Clinical Supervision, and the Clinical Externship programs. If a student withdraws from a class, except for the above classes, at least 3 weeks before the first class date an administrative fee of $300 will be deducted from the tuition refund. Full refunds for tuition deposits and balances are made only if a class is cancelled.

Financial Aid
A limited number of partial scholarships are available through the Institute. These scholarships are awarded based on a student’s demonstrated financial need and commitment to working in a community agency.

Veterans’ Benefits
The Clinical Externship and year-long courses have been approved for payment by the Veterans’ Administration, Bureau of Veterans’ Education.

International/U.S. Visiting Students
The Ackerman Institute is authorized by the United States Department of Immigration and Naturalization to accept and enroll foreign, non-immigrant students.

Visiting students who wish to observe the ongoing work of the Institute should write to the Training Department at least one month in advance, specifying date(s) of arrival and the research project of interest to them. A fee of US $150 per day will be charged.

Continuing Education Credits
Students who successfully complete a course of study at the Institute will receive a Letter of Completion, which may be used to obtain continuing education credits.

Social Workers: Application for Continuing Education Credits has been made to the National Association for Social Workers (NY, NJ, and CT). CE Credits pending.

Psychologists: Ackerman Institute for the Family is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Ackerman Institute for the Family maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
