Special Track for Marriage and Family Therapists

This fall, Ackerman will offer a new track for marriage and family therapists that combine immersion in the Ackerman model of family therapy with live clinical supervision. Participants will spend three hours per week for ten weeks in Ackerman’s Foundations in Family Therapy class and four hours per week for thirty weeks in Live Clinical Supervision, which provides opportunities to participate actively on a treatment team and, at times, work with families in front of one-way mirror with live supervision.

In addition the trainees also will explore their own family of origin’s culture and its effect on practice. Review of videotapes is included in order to help expand clinical skills and address relevant personal issues.
