Peter Abrons is a psychologist living on the upper west side of Manhattan. He credits the Ackerman Institute externship program, from which he graduated in 1995, as providing the foundation for his professional career. Peter has a private practice near Columbus Circle and specializes in family and couples therapy. He supervises graduate students in clinical psychology on their family and couples therapy cases at Lenox Hill Hospital and teaches family therapy to graduate students in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He joined the Ackerman Board of Directors in 2021.
Apart from his professional life, Peter has been taking classical piano lessons since age seven, and his favorite composers are Bach, Schubert, and Mozart. He also plays tennis several times per-week year ‘round in Central Park.
