Join us for Ackerman’s new free webinar series for parents and caregivers. Created by family therapy experts, these webinars are designed to help parents and caregivers to support their child’s mental health across a diverse range of subjects. Webinars are free to attend and will be held online via Zoom.
Program Description:
As parents/caregivers of Black, Indigenous, People of Culture (BIPOC) how do you provide loving guidance that both acknowledges systems of oppression, and promotes your children’s agency, dignity, physical and emotional safety, and belonging?
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to explain a racial socialization framework for positive youth development. We will discuss human development, and practice protective and proactive approaches to caregiving. These approaches will include how to call out systems that are inequitable and unjust, call in community members, and provide structure, nurturance, and engagement to our children.
