NextGen Professionals

The Ackerman Institute for the Family NextGen Professionals Council supports its mission through leadership, fundraising, and community outreach. Service on the NextGen Professionals Council is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the next generation of therapists and thought leaders in the field of families and couples counseling. New NextGen Professionals members will join an engaged community of peers who support the Ackerman Institute’s mission in a variety of ways.  

Ackerman’s vital work helps to ensure that families in distress are not transfixed by their individual traumas and are transformed through their relationships with those who are closest to them. The NextGen Professionals Council provides a forum to share ideas and collaborate with other dedicated new professional.

What does an impactful NextGen Professionals Council candidate look like?

The NextGen Professionals is a group of ten young professionals who meet every other month to discuss fundraising, events, ideas, and opportunities that directly benefit the Ackerman Institute for the Family. NextGen Professionals fundraising events are held throughout the year, in which NextGen Professionals members are asked to get involved in and attend. 

 

The NextGen Professionals Council candidate: 

  1. Is between 21-39 years-old in Greater New York area. 
  2. Has a strong network in New York and is willing to make connections for the organization, both within and outside of the mental health field.
  3. Has the personal capacity and willingness to make a meaningful donation in support of our work; may be combined with fundraising through an event or campaign.
  4. Collaborate and leverage professional and social networks to advance Ackerman’s mission.
  5. Has an interest in fundraising and a passion for Ackerman’s mission.
